Rainbow Six Siege removes new operator evaluation period in the Pro

Rainbow Six's evaluation period for new operators in professional game has long been considered a reasonable choice. Since 2018, operators have no longer been selected in Pro games in the first three months of their lives on the live servers. From Operation Vector GLARE from Y7S2, however, developer Ubisoft will remove this limit.

By keeping new operators on the narrow leash, professional teams have a lot of time in the past to familiarize themselves with the latest weapons in their composition arsenal, while Ubisoft has been granted an additional time to make all the necessary balance adjustments or to fix annoying errors develop. Now the studio seems to be caution in the wind, although it seems to be a calculated risk.

With regard to the change, Wei Yue, director of Esports from Rainbow Six, describes the removal of the evaluation as a "big change" for the eSport of Sieges. "It is really proof of our up-to-date teams, [and] our game designer teams [that] We believe that our operators are now ready to be integrated into the highest level from the start," he says.

As Yue notes, the professionals now have to adapt faster to the new Meta, which could have a major impact on the eSport landscape of victories, depending on which teams can develop and acclimatize the fastest. In the meantime, the fans now have the opportunity to see their new main game at the highest level from the start.

So if the new operator Sens arrives in June with the Rainbow Six Siege Operation Vector Glare publication date, players will learn sooner than later how they can best control them from the brightest lights of the game. For professional teams, however, there could be a childhood illness for the new change.
